The group meets EACH month on the 3rd WEDNESDAY at the Royal British Legion, 10 Longford Lane, Kingsteignton TQ12 3LH from 14:00 to 16:00.

We meet to develop and extend the skills required to research our ancestors and explore the world in which they lived.
We do this through sharing and presentations about our experiences of researching our ancestors, exploring challenges that group members are having during their research and we share our knowledge of resources and methods.
Recent topics we have covered included: using diverse online records, sharing family stories, using AI, the importance of historical context, sharing all the many resources we have used to do our research and a challenge from a museum to identify a soldier's uniform. We have also recently had tuition for reading old writing and wills . Some projects lead us into a deeper understanding of the historical setting and social history of the time.
Our next promises include examining an old document (1715) and hearing about a new members family research. We offer a warm welcome to both those with experience and those who are new to genealogy and support is freely given. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided free of charge.
